just about finished the hagon mk11 sand racer stroker frame 250b resto from top to bottom waitin on wheels to return from chivo's to complete it ready to race next year, but what i was realy wanting to no is if there were many frames engine plates built to suit the suzi motor or if anyone has any pics of any others around i haven't been able to source any pics to compare with and admire

I've just bought one a couple of weeks ago. It's got a '78 RM250c in it. I was told the frame was made in '76. According to the Hagon cattledog it's an "Ultra Lightweight Long Track Sandracer". Mines pretty much all Hagon, the coil bracket is machine stamped "A Hagon Product 01-539 8416" and the engines plates are stamped the same but the right hand plate has an additional hand stamped number "953" within the stamp.

I tried including a picture in my first reply but it didn't work. I'll figure it out. The bikes a runner, I've seen it getting around at a couple of recent practice days hauling in a few modern 450's. My two boys have been doing dirttrack, longtack and mx for a few years and have been having too much fun so now it's my turn. I plan to race it. Going from plodding around on old harleys to fangin' it on a two stroke slider should pretty exciting. Just got to get some brown leathers.

I gather you bought the one from Goulburn Simon, where do you plan to ride it?

G'day SlideRulz, no, not the Goulburn one. I got this from a Canberra club member. I think it was originally from out of Wagga. I'll ride it at Canberra and wherever the boy's are racing if there is a class for it. I've never ridden one before hence the need for the brown leathers.

Brown leathers are a good idea then, Trevor Hunter was the only one I can rember who wore brown leathers.
I'm not trying to worry you too much but 2 stroke Sliders are harder to ride than the big 500 4 strokers.
Having said that I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience, Nepean also run classic classes and depending on conditions and amount of entries you'll get 4 to 6 rides per day.

Looking good. It prompts me to do something positive with my Antig Maico/Yamaha* roller but there's only so many bikes I can work on at the one time. 
*I've got two sets of engine plates and both engines...I haven't decided which one will get the eventual nod.

I was thinking the same but don't you have to have a bar pad of some sort now? I hate the flucking things.

firko u like the hagon hey gotta thank me ol man for the vintage blood lol u would remeber him al adamson from memory u sold him a 250 griffon when i was only a youngster back after a condo long weekend he still talkin bout a come back on the scene i think this resto will get back out there on the 380 griffon

The only thing good about brown leathers is that hide the internal skid marks, I think that's what he meant.
I reckon they look shit.
That bike is looking real sweet, do you have a colour code for Hagon blue?

I'll be buggered....your dad Alan became an instant legend at our first VMX motocross at Amaroo in '88 aboard his puny little 3 speed, rigid framed BSA Bantam, beard flowing in the breeze, flannelette shirt, Blunstone boots and all . I got a phonecall from him out of the blue a few months ago....threatening to come back on the Greeves. I wish he would, the sport need more blokes like your Dad.

Shit the years go by....I remember when you were a little tyke, probably 3 or 4 years old!
