sprocket sizes

What sprocket size combinations do you guys find a good starting point on rt360's for use in natural terrain mx, mine has still got what looks like the original chain and sprockets which is 15/39 and few rides up and down the street and i havent got past 3rd at a fare rate of knots, was thinking 15/45 or 15/47 but your opinions would help. cheers Andrew

I think i run 13/50 on my dt250 will check iff you need to know for sure

all the others out there must have been converted to shaft drive or something similar.

just checked the sprockets are 13 front 51 rear it's in a dt250 with dt400 gearbox ,another hint if you don't allready use is when i was chasing rear sprocket we measured the inner hole then looked in back off the book to find one thats match centre hole and where there was enough to redrill the bolt holes this way it give you a greater selection as i found in the dt listing there was not much choice .I think the one i used was for a honda crf .cheers george

Tried to get sprockets today the dt/rt's are not listed in the two books at the dealers so your method will have to be used, didnt know there were dimensions in the back of the books good tip that george thanks.

guys John Titman in Qld will make you any size you want . I run either a 13 or 14 and a 50 . Iain

thanks Ian for that info, just been on the JT sprocket web site and they have dimensions on there for their sprockets and XR and XL 200 RC/D sprockets p# JTR254.50 comes in 50 tooth have a centre hole 64mm my rt one has any where from 60-63 depending on where i measure it and space for redrilling holes, if I cant get one of these I will have to get them made.
front dt400 75/76 dt250abc it400c p# jtf565.14 or jtf565sc.14 sc means self cleaning.

Front sprocket off dt400 75/76 fits and I nearly fainted when they said they had the right 14t one on the shelf, rear honda sprocket on order be here thursday morning so Ill see how that goes.

If I ever have any troubles ,I just post the rear sprocket to Titmans and they do the measuring  . Iain

Got Honda sprocket today 5 of the holes line up with fresh metal 1 has to be slotted to make it fit if you start from the centre of one hole and mark it out you miss all the other holes some just but it works out ok.Not the best photo but you get the general idea. If I had more patience and time Ians bloke in Qld Titmans would be the go my father uses him as well for his post classic road bikes, but I love to do things myself love the thrill of the chase too much, once I find something that may work not always cheaper but great time wasting fun.
