2 quick questions
« on: October 03, 2012, 05:43:20 pm »
so having looked at a few different web sights im now confused. Is my 79 dt125 the same spec as the 77 78 model and if so can i ride it in pre 78. I know the yz got mono shock early but did the dt as well.

Also are the early 70s dt175s basically 125s with bigger barrel and head? or are they as least interchangable. Ive found a cheap 175 roller that i might buy if its do-able.
cheers

I think they were the same from 77 thru 84, the DT175N was cantilever in '75.

The 175 barrel & head slip on the 125; the missus has a DT125E that we're looking for a 175 head & barrel for.

The "E" model was the first 125/175  to get the monoshock. "E" = 78 model = Evo.
Yes the 125/175 Dt's are pretty much the same except for the barrel/piston.
A YZ125D would be the go.
If i see you at Nudgee one day next year, i'll give you a go on my YZ125F and MX125A.
That may sway your thinking a little,
Vandy

Our glass here is pre80 so it's no problem he just has fun annoying the tt500 guys and the others. He won all its racers last meeting apart from the 1st race where the chain come off .Would of like to take him to the classic nats next year if it fitted into pre 78  may have to rethink cheers George
