Sorry Kerry but as it turned out it would have been a short ride due to me not installing the air filter properly.
However what could have been a long drive for nothing, turned out to be a fantastic weekend when Rockey rallied the troops and Brian and Trevor Anthony kindly let me use there 2011 KTM for my races and I have to say this is when they where in contention for a championship win which would have put a spanner in the works if I had broken it. Also thanks to Clint Grabham who put me in the chair to go and give the A graders a bit of a hurry up I must say I think some bastard for a laugh had super glued the the last lap board holder to his chair as he seemed very relaxed as we kept coming round I was going to ring 000 and get the fire brigade to use the jaws of life to cut him out! Unfortunately our second race was short lived after getting the hole shot we progressed no further than the first corner after a big crash. But that was not the story what I was most impressed with is the way the youngsters interacted with the older competitors when a 10 or eleven year old came up to Trevor Anthony (60yrs) and told him he was a good rider for his age and then trying to back track when he realised the way it came out (Priceless) Trevor and John Robinson (53yrs) where taking it right up to the younger riders half there age and had to settle for second and third in the championship in the end. But I think the best part was being caught up in the enthusiasm of Lara Wedge and Brian Anthony who just can,t get enough of the sidecarcross. They will be great embassadors for the sport in the future. These are just a few people that I have mentioned but every body that was there looked like they where having a great time and made me feel very welcome.
Thankyou Steve Baker
