CD5 Dawn service
« on: April 11, 2008, 07:04:49 pm »
I've been thinking, which I must admit isn't a good idea as I'm not very good at it.

What say we organise a showing at the Raymond Terrace Anzac Day dawn service at CD5. We're only going up there in total freedom to enjoy ourselves because of the sacrifices these guys have made for us. Friday morning is Anzac Day so the least we can do is make a show of it.

Wadda you reckon?

Magoo, we'll have the Rev Cuff (Kawaboy) with us in the KK Kompound. It may be a nice idea to ask if he'll be willing to do a little something for our fallen diggers. I'll run it past him but I'll fully understand if he declines. He'll have his VMX hat on and may wish to leave the dog collar at home.

Maybe a better idea would be to organise an official ceremony at the track on Friday morning some time. There's no way we can let the most special day on the Aussie and Kiwi calendar be forgotten.

Hey Magoose,
Never been to one of these before ::)
I'll be coming off a double staggard "Gun Piquet" at 0430hrs, "Stand Too" is at 0500hrs. I'll start the Gun Fire Breakie at 0530hrs followed by the Dawn service at 0600hrs
with Rum Coffee
Can organise a Cenotaph Guard and Honour Gaurd!! The Kawasaki riders will come in handy for that one
as they ride so slow that standing perfectly still for 1hr should'nt pose too many drama's ;D

I may even wear my medals and Slouch hat!! ::)

SGT B Nolan
GE SGT Armourer RAEME
8\9 Bn RAR

There's me, in me "Giggle hat",SLR and "Greens"
god help me, :'( I was only 17!!!

What year was that taken Squirtmoto - I'm guessing Kapooka?
I spot a carry handle on the SLR and gaiters over the AB boots....that's old gear indeed.

Spot on Wombat!! ;)
It was taken around Feb 1979 at the 600 meter range we had just finished our Qualifying shoot and were about to start the 25km route march!! thats why the "slings" were attached. At all other times you had to carry it in the "shoulder arms" or "trail arms" position.

Hey Billy, how could you have done so much damage to a fine looking young fella that you were. You've gone downhill since the great Holeshot Buddy flogged you the other week.
