Ok, what have I done? 
I did a little research and found that rod kts are 150 bucks, piston kits 130, cable 15 etc, so I figured it wouldn't be too silly to get ridable again.

What have I missed.....

well you've missed markup/profit margin when you re-sell it a few weeks later


Looks like a bargain to me, do the work yourself and it'd be a cheap enough resto.

I hope not. I've never owned a trials bike before but have always wanted to give it a shot. Plus I really enjoy my time in the shed these days and I guess there'd be no shortage of that with one of these?

You Are ready wrong tony, Mainline made the comment towards me, I am defending myself with my comment, and its not about you tony.
Restoring a bike if bought cheap or not, to do a good restoration is costly, even a half baked restoration can also get costly.

You are right about any resto. There's a saying that there's nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes.
That may well apply here........ 
According to the owner, it may well be the case, but it should be fun finding out.
