Its simple really

If you think somthing cost to much dont buy it

If fuels to expensive Drill in your back yard, go deep enough you will find oil (maybe from the other side but you will find oil ) build a refinery and refine your own Gas 

if Ebay sucks dont use it   set up your own online auction site, a 15 yr old Kiwi kid did and then sold it for millions 

I will be happy to buy gas if somone out there can sell it cheaper 
And id be happy to use an alternative to Ebay if somone sets one up

Im sure im not the only one who remembers our two and fast growing very good Aussie auction sites that were online here way before ebay au. came to OZ.. They were  Stuff.com.au and sold.com.au. Both were bought out by ebay USA and shut down.
So who wants to start another site? I'll go in with you.

Anyone else get one of these? Seems the backlash has forced them them to re-think or at very least find why people are so pissed off. At least I got my chance to tell them what I think out their Paypal only payment option.

Ya gotta love this decription.  Dont know how the auction will last but I love the Paypal bit.

Hmmm... Went to pay for some pistons via PayPal tonight.

The news said the Aussie dollar was worth US$0.955.
The NAB website says its worth US$0.94.
ANZ says that an electronic dollar is worth US$0.963


And yet, Paypal reckons its worth US$0.931.

Shenanigans?

I can't help but think that PayPal can "skim" this way... It'd be dead easy for PayPal to claim that they were simply converting the funds, while actually taking a cut simply by under-stating the currency conversion.

To further reduce the number of buyer disputes, PayPal may delay the release of funds for up to 21 days or until the buyer leaves positive feedback.

Gees im gunna have fun buying. I wont have to pay for anything...

Heard on the news today the ACCC has put a stop to ebay taking Paypal only.

ACCC draft notice undermines online consumer protection
eBay will continue to fight for safety benefits for consumers

13 June 2008: eBay challenges yesterday’s Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s (ACCC) draft notice and is disappointed that the ACCC’s current view delays the opportunity to provide consumers a more secure way to shop on eBay.com.au with confidence.

eBay intends to work with the ACCC and hopes to achieve a final outcome which has the safety and security of eBay’s members as its paramount objective. eBay will delay the removal of other payment methods from the site until Tuesday 15 July.

PayPal offers consumers a range of payment choices, including bank transfer and credit cards. It’s a safer and easier online payment system that significantly enhances protection for eBay buyers and sellers.

eBay is pleased to confirm that PayPal buyer protection will jump to $20,000 on eBay.com.au for purchases paid for using PayPal from Tuesday 17 June.

eBay believes the consumer benefits of this initiative are worth fighting for on behalf of its buyers which will ultimately benefit sellers.

What does this mean for you?

PayPal Buyer Protection will still increase to $20,000 on 17 June 2008.

From 15 July 2008, the only payment methods sellers may offer on eBay.com.au will be PayPal and pay on pick up.

Selling on eBay.com.au
Current policies regarding accepted payment methods do still apply. This means PayPal is required on all listings on eBay.com.au. Other payment methods (i.e. bank deposit, cheque/money order) may also be offered until 15 July 2008.

As previously communicated any listings that do not comply with eBay’s Accepted Payments Policy will be removed.

There are a small number of categories excluded from these changes. Learn more about these exclusions.

Don't you just love the speed at which the spin doctors get in there and try and make it look as if the ACCC has taken away some of out personal freedoms by over ruling their attempt at manipulating more money into their already overflowing coffers. Even though I prefer Pay Pal when I'm buying, I like to have the right to offer the option of direct deposit or money order if I'm selling. This is a victory for the consumer.

I think Oztion will be a flash in the pan unfortunately, they will see a huge increase the immediate future but it will die off just like a local fish n chip shop taking on McDonalds.
But at least they are giving Ebay a good scare.... Ebay must be hurting at the moment they have really dropped the ball with all the rule changes, just look at the pages of red when you look thru the completed items!!
I have used Ebay for 5 years and it was great, never had any real dramas but in the last month with the new feedback rules I've have had 3 NPB's  (unfortunately one is a well known racer in VMX which is a bit disappointing...) and other buyers that don't care when they pick bikes up or don't show up... its as bad as dealing with the trading post dickheads
