Old practice tracks around Melbourne....
« on: April 06, 2008, 11:01:10 pm »
Does anyone remember these two practise tracks from 1980 - 1981 around Melbourne.
Berwick, I think it was on a private farm, very sandy and mega bumpy
Sunbury, I remember that you had to pay to ride at this track, it was about 1- 1.5 km long (from memory).
Can anyone remember details about these two tracks ??

Kind regards
Kev

the one at Berwick was probably the Gerons property and was sort of available only to those in the know.

the one at sunbury was Deep Creek and it had a MX track on the side of a monster hill and a good Supercross training track with a doubles .canyon jump ,tripples, quads and what i remember as a monster set of doubles. the planes from Tullamarine flew right over the place.

do you also remember the following riding paddocks/vacant land from south side of melborne. all mid/late 70's

Tallinga Road Sandringham
Farm Road moorabbin
Downards in clayton
The sandies in Cheltenham
old Mentone Racecourse
bunny road dingley
