I'll take anyone's money if they turn up with a smile and a great have fun attitude ;D. That said, the cut off for a Vinduro is 1985, riding an 98 model enduro bike is not really in the spirit of Vinduro as it stands, should we include bikes up to 1990? If we do someone will come along and ask if they can ride a 1992 model, then a 1994 model,,, it just goes on and on and where will it stop. I'm sure this has been discussed previously, but what is the general opinion of Vinduro riders out there ??? ???

I don't know how many people turned up at your last event, but I'd be thinking Pre90 would be a pretty firm cutoff point if you were looking to boost numbers, pre86 if you reckon you've got enough. There haven't really been too many vinduro's up here to date (as far as I know) so maybe a more the merrier approach until you start getting a bit overwhelmed with numbers.

Sounds like a no then, fair enough I didn't want to create a stink rocking up on my "modern" 23yo bike.
No worries.

wmc83, that's not how I read it. Looks like a yes to me.

That said, the vintage 'movement' has until recently been Pre 85 only. However as from this year, the MoMS has included Pre 90 for both MX and Dirt Track. On that basis, although it is up to event organisers, it seems reasonable to extend Vinduro to include Pre 90. That would make your 89 RMX perfectly acceptable.

Now personally I disagree with including Pre 90 in any definition of vintage, but there it is. And no, I'm not trying to derail this thread so let's steer clear of that can of worms. All I am saying is that it seems based on what has happened for vintage MX and DT, vinduro should reasonably be extended to Pre 90. It should at least result in more bums on seats!

Damm!  I will be draging the caravan south-west for a family holiday.

IMO, Pre89 would work best for the evolution of enduro bikes.  But for simplicity Pre90 gives a definite cut off.
Or whatever the organizes want at their event.

Roll up , smile a lot and pay your money and don't put your bike in the impound.
These guys are real easy to get on with and will look after you if you're nice.
