1976 YZ125
« on: July 10, 2012, 05:09:04 pm »
Not sure if the year is correct but apparently its the first monoshock model.
I'm putting it on here for a mate to find out the model and what it may be worth, it has a spare motor, is in original unrestored condition and is for sale.

Vin and engine numbers would be good, but in my opinion it's a 1975 YZ125C. As far as prices go at the moment it would be a hard one as good bikes are pulling shit money or not selling....3 years ago it would have pulled $1500 easy....but now....who knows.

Its a 75 YZc , SlideRulz its missing  the hardest part to get the airbox . took me 4 years to find one for mine . I reckon max $900 and then he would be a collector needing to form a set . Iain

1975 YZ125C. Not to be confused with the 1976 YZ125X or the 1976 YZ250/400C...

I had two project bikes in similar condition, albeit as basket cases which always makes them harder to sell.
The first one took ages to sell, the second one got no takers at $700 despite an excellent tank and a decent pile of new parts - I ended up giving it to a mate.

As Davey says, it's not 2008 anymore...

no Steveo247 the 1975 yzc 125 was the only Yz made in 75 (not counting the 80cc ) . In 76 Yamaha had to call the 125  X to get the line up back in line . Iain

Ah interesting! I have not looked into it much. I thought there was nothing in 75 and 2 models in 76.

So why would the manuals etc have 1976 125 C? Was america different ?

Might be interested in the spare motor if you were selling.

Hey slides if Brendan doesn't take it, I'm interested. If you are who I think you are, I used to ride mine with your cousin when he had his RM125A.

Cheers

Sounds like I could sell half a dozen, if only I had them.
I've sent the relevent questions off to the owner with a guestimate on what he may get for it.
IT400C is #1 in line for it, if I hadn't been off work for 3 months I'd grab for myself but I will still post up the info when I get it.
Bike is in the Bankstown area of SYD.
You wouldn't be talking about cousin Laurie would you Stewart?
