Michelin AC10s suck, esp the front. Anyone who tells you otherwise should be punched. In the face. With a chair.
I used to think the rear was OK, but ran on on the TTR at the 24hour and hated it.
Michy Comp 3 & 4s are pretty good.

LOTS of the Pirelli front tyres are road legal - even their MX tyres. They're not always advertised as such because the matching rears aren't always road legal. Their naming conventions seem designed to baffle you... I ran an MX Extra Mid(?) and thought it was fantastic, but it was hard to say just how good when the rear was so bad...

Not been much of a fan of the new Metzelers although some people love them.

Nathan, I am one of those Metzeler lovers, they are fitted to the front of all my bikes(MC5)
MCA have them on special at the moment for $65(front)$75 (rear) or they have Pirelli Scorpion MX for $70(front) $85 (rear) bargain prices

I don't hate them or anything, I just don't see why others get so excited.

Not sure if road legal but michelin M12 front and rear(now m12xc dont know what the xc is for but same pattern) use't to be a good all rounder intermediate for riding around here (otways/high country) not much good on the road but but great in the slop, wear reasonably well.
