Whew.....I was thinking that they'd go the other way 8). I still reckon they could fit both in on the same weekend but the pre 78 split makes the most sense. Now to get the flat trackers up and running properly ;D.

AAAGH, I have put a lot of prep into my pre 85 bikes and planning a trip to Canberra with the family for this event. It was going to be my big effort to finally get a win (too many 2nd places, first loser in previous Nats). With the limited numbers in the post classic classes in the past I hope this is not the end of my pre85 dirt track days!!!

A couple of days ago, I made a phone call re the issue of the Classic and Post Classic OZ DT Nats for this year, as time was marching on and no firm decision was made,  the opinion was that, seeing there were 58 possible classes, if the Classic and Post Classic were run together and all classes were run, daylight would be the winner.

It does give another club the opportunity to run the OZ Post Classic DT Titles.

See ya at Canberra in October or on Sunday if you are at the Club Day

I think they could have easily done it. we ran 75 at the cmx and i know you guys ran a full program like the year before last.   Shame we cant convince you to change you mind. ITs a lost oppertunity as you still ahve the same cost to run the event but your missing out on probally 50 more bike entries.

Freaky, that was not my opinion, it was theirs, however we now know where we are up to and what we are doing.

We knew the split was probably coming for DT as well, but gee it seems a bit late in the year, there's gunna be a lot of disappointed people.
Hopefully there are still plenty of entries for this year in Canberra it'll be interesting to see if another club takes up the oportunity of hosting the Post Classics.

Where do the sidecar guy's sit in all of this? I just spoke to a guy who's getting his Australian title winning chair from the 80's ready to have a ride in Canberra.

*repeat of my other post on the other DT Nats thread. Can we just have one dedicated thread to prevent information and comment scattering all over the forum?
As I said on the other thread,I reckon they could pull off both over and under pre 78 with this event but now that they've decided to go with the pre 78 cut I think they've made the right choice. The pre 75/78 division has been clearly the most well supported section of dirt track so it'd be pretty unfair to omit them from the Nats.

Surely there's an available date at Nepean where Penrith, BWP or St George could bung on a Post Classic Nats?  There's a free weekend on November, 17th that dosen't seem to clash with anything, although it's a week after HEAVENS last round. Maybe the Retro guys could organise it. A November date gives plenty of time to prepare so why can't it be done?

Yes, I've set up a permanent thread for the DT Nats under Competition. I'll lock this one off, please use the correct thread so's we keep it all together.
