Fox Factory Forx - Several versions?

Hello all,

lady luck brought my way not one but two sets of Fox Factory Forx. I know, I know...
They are destined to live on two C&J XR500 bikes. One is an early (circa 1979?) C&J frame with straight swing arm, the other a late (1982) HPF mono shock.

Now that I have both marvels out of their boxes on a table, I notice that the scutcheons look different. The photo under will speak better than my words.

Any of the experts  can comment on this difference? An evolution in the manufacturing or simply a machine job that was more complete on one than the other?

Looks to me some one has rubbed down the casting marks on the forks.for a better look
I did the same on my forks and the other alloy stuff

Woaw, this would be a lot of rubbing, may be with a lathe then...

I just used a 80 grit sanding disc on a grinder taking light strokes to get 80% off and making sure you dont take to much off and make flat spots.
Then use 180grit,240,400 and so on by hand wet and dry of course up to 2000 grit  then use a rag wheel on a bench grinder with a polish soap.

The left fork pictured is the original casting. I left the casting on mine for the extra material so I could weld a Euro style brake stay on.

Have you got the yokes?  Have some new ones if reqd......  (would post some pics, but havent got that sorted yet... maybe one day!)

Tripples.

So you have new Fox triples? Do you remanufacture them?

Yokes = tripple clamps.

Yes I have some new replica Fox yokes to take 43mm or 44mm legs.  Top and bottom clamps with the bar clamps.  Unlike the originals these have metric fasteners ~ all titanium fasteners (if you are going to do it might as well do it right)

I am not making them, but I do have some.  They use aerospace grade alloy and are clear anodised.

For the shocks; New bodies and the brass nuts are available.  Also the shaft nut for the top of the rod (in Titanium) are available.

If you like your Hondas, (and trick ones at that) then how about a full Ti fastener kit for the motor?  Even the 140mm long M6 bolt for the head is included.
