I found a barn find this morning, but sure exactly what it is!!

Its a Kawasaki, frame number starts with F8, and owner beleives its a 250 motocrosser?, It did have an old taillight on rear aftermaket guard (which means nothing)

I beleive it to be around early 70's era, Bison Maybe?

can anybody help

If the engine number starts with F8 then that is what it is..an F8 Bison trailbike from 1971 (F8E09786 or greater is the '72 F8A model) If the number started with F81 then it would be the motocross model F81M from 1971. Both these models used the rotary valve induction engines

Thanks Doc, after hours of researching google it doesnt have the carby set up the same as Bison?

Bisons look like the carby is mounted inside RHS crackcase, this thing had carby mounted start onto barrel, alloy rims and more mx looking than a trials bike. (maybe a B81m?)

I guess I need to get that engine number

if it has a regular carb onto the barrel and alloy rims it's more than likely an F11 (1972-'75) F11M the mx version came out in '73, lime green tank (bolt mounting at the front) with black engine and black hubs. The regular F11's had plain alloy (silver hubs)

Were they a good bike?, are there many around in the VMX arena?

F11's are pretty common and yes, they were a good bike..not that many F11's racing in vmx but the F11M is indeed a rare bird.

Doc, It has a F8 frame number, F11E engine number
