XC430 and CR430 differences?

Im still looking for a big bore and saw this XC430 on ebay.

looks to be a real nice bike,would this be competitive as an MX bike?were there many differences to the cr?

Yes it would be competitive as a mx'er, the main differences would be the gear ratios for cross country but would still be good on a motocross track.
The bike was owned by a forum member on the sunny coast and the new owner happens to be a customer of ours..

XC has a larger full cell

Some had the floating rear brake like the CR and some had the fixed rear brake like the WR.

Fantastic bike and the 430 engine is super.

I've been looking at it and I'm not sure what it actually is. The chassis looks to be a CR with the full floating rear brake, lack of rear frame loop & no frame rail under the engine. The chassis number listed is strange also. The engine number would be handy. Looks to be a nice bike though and the price is good. I'm building a CR430 now and I will probably double that figure. XC's use the WR wide ratio spec engine with the CR MX suspension (as a general rule of thumb). I find the gap between 2nd & 3rd a tad wide for me with the WR trans and it annoy's me no end. Most of my mates have ridden my bikes and they reckon I'm a dickhead coz it's nothing to worry about. I am a fussy prick though.

Im thinking the wide ratio box might be OK as Ill be mainly racing it with the QVMX club with mostly wide open natural terain tracks.
Is this bike EVO legal?

That's why i mentioned the floating / fixed brake.

I had a XC at one staged , untouched / messed with prior to us getting it and it was matching numbers , no engine protection on underside of frame , no rear frame loop and floating rear brake , yet the frame and engine and frame numbers showed it to be a genuine XC. It happens sometimes with Husky's.

Until recently ,I also had a 83 CR 250 with WR ignition , complete with compliance plate.

I've had a lot of Huskies and never found that (unfortunately), must be a Euro thing to use up whatever you have left. Every Maico 400 I've owned had a 250 chassis number (according to their listing). Yes the bike is EVO legal.

Hi,
I owned that 430 , the previous guy who had it cut the frame  to make it a CR, it has a SEM ignition and CR forks so i rebuilt it as a XC.  It was a good bike when i had it, i only sold it because i already had a 430.

I have 2 CR Huskys from 1981 and an XC 250 1983 in the garage. There as some small differences between a CR and XC that are obvious such as the full float rear brake arm and the brake rod itself being in two pieces on the XC WR. Two fifths of stuff all really. The XC 1983 we have has a PVL ignition fitted and is a lightening bolt. From what I saw on the link it is a cracka. Pete

Did Husky do a 430 xc in 1983 as well, I thought it was a 500 by then ?

Evo I think you are right. But it is possible to bolt the 81 82 420 motor into the white 83/84 frame. This could be a bitsa?
