no worries, I don't bother with any of the other bike shops now, even though he's an extra hour drive for a round trip, it's more than worth the effort.

not a huge mount of progress since last time. Wide footpegs, nos brake and throttle cable, got some bits back from the platers, and of course the rebuilt engine. Had all the machining done by Serco, chased up the required bearings etc, and then had it reassembled by the Russell the tame genius at HSB racing services.

About 90% done on polishing the tank using Leith's techniques as per VMX mag, and is coming up a treat. Tank stickers are just sticky taped on so I could get a photo ;D

dont you just love putting a newy painted frame on the bench and locktighting all the goodys back on. take 3 steps back to the beer friage open a cold one .then back in to it.I think it as much fun as raceing.

I am at that stage with my HL500, mint motor, everything is new and shiny, Foxy Forx look mint, the joy of it all.

Cheers guys, sorry just got the phone back on this arvo (and the power last night). Everything else is ok but some of the surrounding suburbs look like a bomb hit.

Mr Vandy, I have to keep my hair neat, cause I'm already an XL helmet size, if I let the hair go , I'd have to wear a bucket! and now that you mention it, there were some unidentified (till now) blond tufts sticking out of the carb :o :o

two steps forward, one step back

new carb in, all new cables, rear brake finally hooked up. Electrics in place, although the stator is being rewound as this goes to press. New kickstarter, old one to Vandy's collection.

Drumroll please............

ta da!   the finished product, well almost. Some carb tuning is needed to get it to run right, but that's about it. I had it at CD6 but was having too much fun riding the Egg and everyone else's bikes to want to spend time trying to tune it there.

Don't know what to do with myself now that it's finished.

Thanks very much to all those who helped with info and advice including, but not limited to, Rusty, Vandy, Brad, Nathan, DJ etc...
