VIPER practise & final registration.
« on: March 16, 2012, 10:09:28 am »
We have managed to secure the historic Ravenswood Park Motocross Track for a preliminary hitout before our first round of racing. The date is Sunday 15th April, cost is $20 per rider. If you don't have an M.A race license you will be required to purchase a $20 one day recreation license. Sign in 9:00am.
The morning will consist of a general get toghether & final registrations with riders briefing & a short 10 minute club meeting @11:30am. There will be an area set for a swap meeting for anyone interested. Riding will commence at 12:00pm and run till 4:30pm on a groomed track, classes & sessions TBA on the day. Full canteen facilities will be in operation. Please contact me via email at [email protected] or 0417394889 to indicate if you will be attending. This will help with the canteen requirements and class selection.
*** This will be the last day you can register to be awarded full series points and retain your current race number. If you are not registered by this date, your number may be allocated to someone who is registered. Any registrations recieved after this date will not be valid for points until the 2nd round & so on. One day memberships are not valid for full series points.
Don't miss this great opportunity to kick of the new VVMXC series with a bang at one of the best MX tracks in the country.
Cheers,
K

Hi All,

Thanks to Ross, Peter, Dawn, Ken, anyone else, including the previous committee for their initial input to get things happening at the start of the year.
But the two people that stand out to me in this year's all new VIPER VMXC are Simon Healy and Mick Hughes.
I have seen first hand the time and organinizing that Simon has put into it, on the phone with MA and organinizing events, driving to other venues to see if usable, all at his own time & expense, and you can see what Mick has been doing & all this is time consuming as well.
I hope everyone appreciates how lucky we are to have such experienced guys committed to keeping VIPER alive as we have such a GREAT sport and I’m not ready for golf. (sorry, Frank!)
Cheers,
Arno

No kickers Hoony, the track is back to being suited for all types and more like the old days, fast & flowing. Yep it will get rough as the day goes on but that's how granite sand is.

I agree 100% with what Arno has posted.  Without people like that sacrificing their own time things just wouldn't happen.
Well done fellas, keep up the great work.

I thank Arn for the sentiment but I didn't actually do anything except dare to suggest some change. ::). In hindsight however it's given me a purpose to race the over 45 class once more.....
The others mentioned deserve the credit.

If there is a VMX bike ready here, id love to go. Is there a slot if we bring the modern along with the vintage?
Maico's, the only way to go.

Still recovering from shoulder surgery (Physio every week) so not sure about racing this year, at least the start of the season. I do intend to ride again just not sure when. Not interested in points but would like to keep my number. Any chance of paying some sort of nominal fee to keep it?

I think your number will be safe Neale, unless someone specifically wants 666, but the rules are the same for everyone. You have to be a full financial member to retain your number.

K
