Gene Romero racing on corn syrup
« on: February 22, 2012, 04:13:55 pm »
Watched this show on the running of South Point Casino in Vegas the other night and one of their events is indoor flat track.

Gene Romero trucked in a few flimsy carriers for the concrete walls on the corner, then they coated the concrete stadium floor in corn syrup, let it go tacky, and then it was all on for indoor flat track.

Looks like fun, but a 'DIRT' shorttrack is way better... but when the weather is crap it is a good alternative.

Unbelievable Traction !! We use Coca Cola Syrup here in the Midwest. You can Burn up a new tire in a couple races.
Big Wheelies off the line too.

Go ahead and call me a boring old fart, but it does nothing for me.
They held a Speedway meeting once in the Syd Ent Cent and it was pathetic.
To each his own.

Yeah I was quite surprised they seemed to be really hooking up, I thought the stuff would polish off the floor in no time. Seemed to do better than if you had actually spread dirt on the floor.

Looks like a shit load of fun, probably not for everyone but food for thought as permenent outdoor tracks come under pressure of closing due to poor management, poor policy, poor marketing and apathy. . . . . . .
