'M' prefix for 'over 50' racers (Masters)
« on: February 02, 2012, 11:55:45 AM »
I know it doesn't relate to VMX racing but I have just sent a letter to Motorcycling Victoria's Motocross Committee to ask if they would consider using the 'M' prefix (for Masters) on racing numbers in open competition.

I think it is crazy that they are classing 'over 30' as veterens, man I was at my peak at 35 !!!  Since I turned 50 I have really noticed all my old injuries catching up with me.  My surgeon told me that the bone density of a 50 yo is half that of a 20 yo.

I think there should be some glory when a rider over 50 smokes a 30 yo.

They said that they will table it at their next meeting.

Plus those out there who ARE Masters and over 70 could have both.
Personally made it to 'Super Senior' but a bit late now to make it to Master.  !!!
 cheers pancho

im pre-empting happening .   just made a space on the number plates to send out the good vibes into the parrallel planes where all that suspended motocross and dirttrack dust and noise goes to , it'll happen now , anythings better than a flying 'W'  ;) and as for the over 70's (i hope to get there in 14yrs) they might consider 'G' for grand master or 'L' for legend

What about SOC?

My race number starts with an 'M' already, but I reckon it was just coincidence - I'm not 50 yet.

Although I feel as if I am some days.

Some of us are more "S" than "O", mind you, we are probably all a BOSC . . . . . just the level of "S" and "o" varies.

How big are your number plates ? You all must run the number 1 to have that much room. Not too mention in moderns most numbers already have a Letter in the number of three digits.

Maybe we could run those Macdonald's serving trays that we "HAD" to run in the 70's again ! you could fit 6 figure's on them   ::)
