Vintage Enduro / Poker Run
« on: March 17, 2008, 10:51:20 am »
NSW and interstate Riders

In conjunction with the Manly Warringah Motor Cycle Club we will be running a Vintage Enduro / Poker Run on the week-end of May 10th & 11th  2008 at Rockley.

The landholders at Rockley have kindly opened their property to allow us to run this event.

Start with a 3/4 lap of the famous Rockley MX grass track and then its into the bush for a great loop of the property. The loop passes in & out of three stands of euclalypt forest with wide flowing trails and some single tracks complete with flowing transport sections between each forest.

The loop is completed and has been tested. The loop is well marked with directional arrows and bunting.

The event will be run over two days and will commence on Saturday afternoon with five loops and the event will finish on Sunday morning with five loops.

Each rider will receive a card on completion of each loop. The riders with the best poker hand on completion of their five loops win the card game.

This is a novelty event , not a race

Modest prizes will be given for the best poker hands.

This event is open to Classic motor cycles & will be a pre-85 event "meaning motorcycles manufactured before 1985"

The event will cater for
Enduro Bikes
Trials bikes
Trail Bikes
Motorcross bikes (Only if fitted with headlights) "No headlight on MX bike no Ride"

Camping will be available on the property

Portable toilets will be provided

You will need to bring all your own food.

It is usually  very cold  in Rockley that time of year so warm clothing is essential

Come join us for this fun event at picturesque Rockley,  this will be an event not to miss.

More info and entry forms soon.

MMMM. I may just have to polish up the old IT465 or keep the For Sale PE400 now that Vinduros are ready to take off in NSW. Expect a strong KK presense at this one Rob. Anyone who hasn't been to Rockley before will love the place. Great news.

I have had 31 calls since the initial post 18 / 03 / 08 , and thank you for you enthusiastic responses.

We would like to clarify the following:

Motorcycle registration will not be required as it is a closed course / private property.

Headlight on MX bike does not necassarily need to be operational

No tail light is required

I have two spare used  preston petty headlights i could lend  to MX bike riders as required .

Wow.
Bring what you brung.
If it doesn't come up to spec - borrow one of these.
No licences to worry about.
Not one word about noise levels.
Just go out and have some fun.
Is this the future of Vintage Dirt Bikes?
If so... ;D

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Here's an aerial view of the Rockley property with the Vinduro loop marked. Blue is part of the old MX circuit...

I notice that you need a headlight for your bike to be in the poker run so I have an old eveready dolphin that I used to use on my Huskies(poor lights) if I strap that on the Bandido or the TM 400 can I play with you boys at Rockley????? and I would never change arrows or move tapes on the course as some people have alledged before and I am a changed man seen the light...no drinkin.....no swearin.....no fartin.....no snoring......no putting shit on non Husky,Bultaco,Suzuki riding nancy boys like magoo....ask Andrews he is bunking with me at CD 5.
I await your reply.
Harro
PS The publican from Rockley has moved to Trunkey Creek so I am safe at the pub!!! no wanted posters

We really dont mind if you use a coal miners hat , as long as it it is firmly and safley secured to the front of the bike.

The front is the end with the handle bars.

A changed man  :o :o :o :o , what , giving up fart , swearing , drinking and snoring for comedy are we.

Your picture is still behind the bar , so the pub is still a no go zone for you.
