DT1 pre-70 race bike.
« on: January 08, 2012, 10:02:50 pm »
*No ignition fitted, but will come with my box of points ignitions.
*No seat foam or cover, but easily available on Ebay.
*Footpeg bracket not fitted, but included (see second photo).

Pre-70 class racer, took me to 5th place at the National titles a few years ago (was =4th, but got punted on count-back, grumble grumble...  :D ).

Totally legal bike...
Was stripped back to a bare frame and rebuilt. Has done about half a dozen meetings since.

Piston port barrel with fresh bore, also have a new next oversize piston ready for when its needed.
32mm(?) carb from an RT1.
Pipe made to old-school specs.
Cylinder ported to DT1MX specs.

Alloy rims laced into original hubs (NOS front spokes).
Alloy-bottomed 34mm forks, with excellent chrome.
Good chain and sprockets.
Near-new Gazi gas shocks.

Almost brand new Michelin MH3(F) and S12(R) tyres - 95% good or better.

Renthal 764 bars.
Good levers, grips etc.

Was running an IT250 CDI ignition (bolts straight on), but will include my bucket of original points ignitions. IT ignition available by negotiation.

No seat foam or cover, but have a very good base. Foams and covers are easily available on Ebay.

Silencer needs repair/replacement.

Spare include a piston port barrel, engine covers (inc early raised lettering clutch cover), new genuine front sprocket, good original rear guard, and whatever else I can find.

$700 as is???

Will sell for less if I can keep the tyres and/or rear shocks (have some decent tyres to put on instead, and can probably find some shocks to keep the rear guard off the tyre).
Also have a pair of 35mm Spanish Betor forks and Montesa triple clamps that were destined for this bike - available by negotiation...

Short, fairly pointless action vid from a few years ago - its the black bike chasing down the CZ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q48NJm9ibvQ

In southern NSW, near Canberra.

No, probably not Brett...I've got both flat trackers almost ready to go for that. If I'm the chosen new owner it'll be assembled and presented as a pre 70 racer to  a mate for his 60th birthday. After I've swapped the good seat base and shocks for my DT1 from Hell revamp. ;D

You can never have too many sets of Betors Shane (and Jim)  but in truth I bought them for my mate Jonesy who needed a set for one of his projects.
