it175D whats it worth?
« on: January 05, 2012, 07:37:44 pm »
got an old 80yo mate with a it175d which other then the painted tank and slightly faded plastics looks like it came out of the show room with 9800 kays on the clock,so whats a fair offer to him as i dont want to rip him off nor do i want to over pay him for it?

I'd be thinking low to mid 2k if it's really that shmick. Don't know if they're that sought after which obviously keeps the price down.

Less than $2K.
Need to take off a bit for tyres and you should really fit new crank seals.

its got a plastic tank like all it's have, its been well maintained and is in way above average condition coz the owner prides himself on it and hardly ridden for alot of years now and when it was it just been around town here but ive got a d and f to rebuild now not that this one needs it.but too nice to pass up also as its the cleanest unrestored it ive seen.

Just noticed that there is a IT175E on Tradingpost 3315klm, original in good nick,$6500, whilst this price is a dream - the one you are onto may be worth more than i think

Hello Taka,
I konw you are a good guy, After talking with you before, I dont think what you are saying is meant to be nasty at all. Your just saying that the old fellow would probably appreciate the friendship than the money at this point.
Cheers Brett and take care

Not that it is relevant to what a bike is worth in 2012 dollars, but I think you might be remembering through rose coloured glasses - my first-shipment IT175D bought new in 1977 was $1200 from Morningside Yamaha, Brisbane

gee this has opened up a large can of worms! fwiw i do mow his lawn, paint his house and service his old vj val ute.from memory me 1st tt500d was only 1450 hence saying 7 or 800 for the little 175 but i know the old yamie dealer well since he owns the wreckers now and ill ask him or a old mate who had one,im sure one of them will know what they cost new.6650 for a low kay E model he is dreaming unless someone really wants it as lets face it there 34 yo bikes and old tech in every way other then having cdi sparks.next time ill just shut my mouth and wont bother asking.
