Looking for MK8 or MK9. There's got to be some out there somewhere. Swap one of my children or cash! Jerry

I've got enough kids already thanks Jerry but I have just had a quick look and found some second-hand 560mm Bultaco Betor 35mm fork tubes with the knurled section starting 180mm from the end.
I looked up a book and it showed Mk8 Pursang as having in-line sliders and Mk9 Pursang as having leading axle sliders so not sure what you are seeking

Thanks for replying Feetup. I realise what your saying regarding the axle placement but it is of no concern as it's the stanchions I'm after. Tell me do your stanchions have the tapered end (that fits into the top triple clamp) or the non tapered.

Non-tapered tops. I suspect the ones I mentioned might be from either late model Alpina or Mk7 Pursang because there are sliders of both types in with the tubes. I mentioned the positioning of the knurling because there are also some tubes there that are otherwise the same but with the knurling further down which I think might be Sherpa T, and because I don't know how far apart the triple clamps are on Pursangs.

Thanks Feetup sounds promising. I will do a bit more research over the weekend and get back to you. Presumably if its a goer they are for sale. Are you able to let me know the condition of the chroming etc. Feel free to PM if you like. Cheers Jerry

I just looked at eight taper-top bultaco betor tubes and two of them were stamped "18" at the bottom end of the taper. No "M" in front of the "18" though.
I couldn't see any stampings on the other taper-top tubes.

Jerry, what bike are you wanting the staunchions for?
You definately don't want Mk 9 forks as they are 38mm

Thanks Moto I didn't know that. Its definitely 35mm Dia Im after. What I have is the finned in line axle sliders. I believe they were on an early model Frontera and I'm looking for the correct stanchions that should give me 200 mm of travel. I'm advised by Peter Schoener at Bultaco Parts that I need upwards of 560 mm in length and non tapered on the end. If they are too long thats not a problem as I have access to a lathe to cut down and rethread. If you can help I would much appreciate it. Cheers Jerry PS Thanks Feet up (Dave) I look forward to hearing from you. Incidentally one kid is a plumber and the other ones a chippy. Take you pick!
