the mugen kits attract a premium, I'm on the fence as to weather or not they are actually worth it, you can't beat the coolness factor though and  don't get me wrong, i would buy one, if i has the folding laying around.

I managed to pick up a Mugen head for a '76 CR125 a couple of weeks ago in Brisbane for $60!! Mugen kits are probably not worth the money they're attracting but if you want one bad enough...
The Simons ignition covers are not as rare as you may think.. i've scored 2 of them for my RM's.

nice bike mark, those simons ignition covers care pretty rare, I'm sure there would be a lot of people looking to take that off your hands

rarer than a virgin in South Auckland High School mate. Yeah Mugen anything is some serious bread. Cool move with 125 is water cooled head conversion, they are out there.

Yep Shinobi head is really starting to get down to brass tacks where rarity is concerned. I really like Scott Steigers RC replica ..... in the flesh it is just stunning.

At 10,000 US buckos you would have to be a minted VMXer, but that is still a couple of big ones shy of what a new 125 MXer costs and resale is much better.

yeah, 10k purchase is one thing, but imagine building it, the time, the love, everything that went into it, and then cartwheeling it on the first race.  Heartbreaking.

But you are right, you can't go past the resale compared to new bikes

I sold a '77 Mugen kitted CR125 to a forum menber not so long ago, and there was a '76 CR125 on ebay (US) last week, complete running standard bike with mugen kit, Simons forks, swingarm, NOS sun rims and a pile of stuff for US$5,200. Was tempted but already have enough to do. It didn't get a bid, so may be re-listed some time.
Cheers,
K
