Will be really interested to see where you go with the Cooper
Left field for a start!
I've just been out in the shed fiddling around with stuff and plonked the motor into the frame to see what's needed once I get to it. Not only is the Moto Islo a sweet fit, the Zundapp upper rear mounts almost line up with the Moto Islo crank case mounts
. They'll have to be redrilled but that's better than having to reweld new mounts....damaging the perfect nickel. Some things are mean't to be
While I was rooting around I tried my T100 Trumpy motor and sure enough, it fitted in there as well! It's a really tight fit and to be frank it'd be a bitch to work on but it can be done. I fitted a T100 motor to a Bultaco M11 (Metisse copy) a few years ago and it was a similar tight fit. While I was sitting having a cup of Java looking at the Triumph in the little Rickman it dawned on me that a CB350 twin would be a beut swap into the frame....it'd be sort of a scaled down Triumph Metisse. I've got a CB77 305 engine in the glory hole, If it wasn't tucked away so securely I'd dig it out to give it a try......
