MSA board needs to be more transparent
« on: November 23, 2011, 12:36:55 pm »
I have noticed a few questionable descion made by the office bearers  and board to the point were you cant believe there interest in the sport is other than there own personal needs.

It is a great loss to SA motorsport that Michael Tux will resign on the 25th after initially reciving a warning after successfully running the kadina motocross event, but not taking a phone call from the presidnt on the day amoungst other things.  THe focus on Putting on Racing and Motorcycling event seemingly continues to come second to political puffery.

Tux was- is one of us and ride modern MX amoungst other things, he was a shinning voice in the duldrums of the MA sanctum where the norm of questioning why, get you threats of being removed or funding cuts.

Unfortunalty for SA unless the board and office is made more accountable and in my opinion perhaps new people voted in so we get some new blood in the board we will continue a down hill, non Motorcycling spiral.

ANY SA members on here make sure your club votes in the upcoming elections ....... other wise dont say you werent warned.

Here is an excert from Michaels resignation letter with his other concerns noted ......

I hereby wish to advise you all of my Resignation from MSA. It has been a exciting year and we have achieved many milestone events and I have enjoyed my time with Motorcycling South Australia. I thank you all for your assistance, passion and belief in our chosen sport.

My reason for resignation is because I am unable to continue working for a Board of Directors who have lost sight of what we are truly about, developing Motorcycle Sport in South Australia, I would encourage all Members who have an interest in the future direction of MSA to be very vigilant of your Boards actions, you may find otherwise that some of our most valuable assets, (e.g. ACUSA Park and MSA Hall) are sold off in an attempt to finance the white elephant known as TBMP( currently at over $160k spent.). I have continually reminded the Board of our current financial situation (-$130k) for the last 6 months, however they have the Blinkers on regarding anything other than TBMP to the point of making MSA insolvent. Please all ask for transparency of your Board before its to late.

Good luck to all in the future,

Kind Regards,

Michael Tucker

Couldn't agree more Freaky, I thought the writing was on the wall when I heard about the aquiring of TBMP as I would have thought it would only cater for bitumen riding (what else can you do in semi desert) but was told otherwise and how good the facilities were. Haven't been there and probably wont. But like most things that happen in todays society they are done to support minority groups. Unfortunately unless more people are prepared to nominate for board positions and get involved this will continue to happen. Michael may have done better to get his point across to clubs before resigning as I'm sure he may have got some possative response.

I believe its the way each state will go..
Urban crawl and having all the disiplines in one place, they are still looking for suitable land in WA.
Future MA state sites will be like Broadford, well thats thier aim anyway !!

That'll never, ever happen in NSW as long as the conga line of self serving pricks running MNSW keep getting in to power. I fondly remember paying the land fund levy on my licence for years, only to see it pissed against the wall by the McMurtrie 'Shaft 'Drive' fiasco and their Eastern Creek money pit from the early 90's.

I have no issue with TBmotorsport park.  i reckon if they get it right it has every chance to host all the disciplines and be a perfect spot for all to enjoy and concentrate racing and share costs.   BUT they got to offload all the other shit they bought first like granite 'white elephant' ridge and other land they aquired and has sence turned out to be unusable for many reasons.  TBMP has had a fortune spent on it in consultants but not one track made. i would have thought hiring a grader and cutting a track would have been the first priotiy so it was paying its way and getting people out there.  MY understanding is only the cars are out there ATM using the old testing pan and an enduro loop motard session along the fire trails loops around the areas.

Which i think what Tux is alluding to, there are decsion being made adhoc and money is spent ala 'Shaft drive' but not focussed on the specifics of today and motor sport. there are too many pie in the sky junior developements and Adhoc race support plans that soak up all the funding yet arent driving what the sports need to survive.  proactivity that is required to survive today.  ten years is not relevant when there are no seniors to carry the sport and no event s left for anyone to compete in ?  MAny clubs are being run now by people who have no motorsport interest anymore is all political puffery, throne buiilding and power tripping.  most of the commitees dont even ride nor race ? so how are they supposed to be in a postion to speak for the riders ? lets add another levy and other profit chasers and wonder why the race numbers are in decline ? FFS - if you want to run it like a business and not a sport then fine do it but dont cross the line. Promote it as such and pay the riders tow fees and or prizes or cut entry costs so the profits are made from the gates, sales and canteen after all any good promoter pays to put on a show and then has to make the money from the peripheral activities.
