YZ465/490/500 Crank Half Needed
« on: November 10, 2011, 10:29:56 am »
Hi everyone,
has anyone got a really good stator side YZ crank half surplus? The one on this WR500 I'm fixing has pitting right where the seal runs >:(. I have cleaned it up with emery in the lathe but it is still questionable and I don't want to risk using it. Shame really, as I don't think it has ever been out of the cases, it is perfect apart from the important bit :'(.
So if you have a really good one that you are prepared to move along, I would love to talk to you>

Cheers

or,
head on down to your local Bearing shop and grab a
"SPEEDE" sleeve.
it's a super slim shim/sleeve that fits real snug to the shaft and goes underneath the seal and available in a good range of sizes.
you could be lucky.

We repair them by machining down the crank  and making a "sleeve", that way it stays the same size and it doesnt effect the cranks integritty. Speedy sleeves arent allways available the right size and once you fit it you will destroy it if you have to pull it apart.
