Gatton Swap Meet
« on: October 22, 2011, 10:53:56 am »
Does anyone know what's the go with this years Gatton Swap Meet? On there website they say Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October are the days with set-up from 12 noon Friday 28.

This seems different to previous years where many people set-up on the Thursday afternoon and Friday was the first day.

Is this always the way it's been or has the early birds just been getting in earlier and earlier to hopefully get the good stuff?

ive heard its the royal of the north , do the have pluto pups cause a guy need's fuel whilst doing some miles around the traps , i have a wish list , maybe their should be a forum wish list with a spotters fee for successful  contacts, just an idea, it will help pay the fuel?

i'll start it

klof cz250 (980) bottom end /gearbox or complete motor and a radial/porky head 5 stud (cash or carton/fine quaffer for spotter)

They will be letting people into the middle of the show grounds Friday morning and at 1200 oclock they will start to let people into set up and no public until Saturday morning at 5am, l imagine that the people inside Friday will be able to get first chop at anything there, from what im told your right  it was just getting earlier and earlier..
IN IT FOR THE FUN OF IT. LIKE MR NIKE SAYS JUST DO IT.

do you think it would be a good idea to change the way they think, maybe draft a a wist list which would have to be specific (to stop the i wont all parts associated with ....! guy)  from forum members which should hold a lot of weight to the organisers and seller's as we are one of the major target groups and send it for them to put up for their seller's  to peruse with contact details when they arrive , saves them a lot of time and cash and eventually the lowballers and lurkers, ps could save us a lot of time money and wear and tear especially if there's an event on or its your sabbath  ;D

doesnt matter then what time it opens or who get's a first look prior to the swapmeet because half of the sellers wouldn't know we exist or anyone could be mad enough to chase this stuff, come on lets 'do it' as arnie would say,  see what happens might make some happy campers , many hands make light work ;D ;D ;D
hey i would love to go and have a look cause i know thats half the fun of hanging with ya mates finding stuff ' but sometimes dates clash ,

have a pluto pup for me , heaps of tom sauce , the perfect food for these events you can still grab stuff with one hand or if it's to the critical stage hold it in your mouth and grab with both hands .

or
perhap shoot the club with a letter from your club wishing for the sellers to be segregrated between dirt and road..
Of course Old Bob whom has been going from day one may protest highly,, :o  "You want to what ?"  :o
but at least you've tried..  ;D
As for us, we would love just a quarter of this Swapmeet in the west  :P
Enjoy !!
