I asked "the man" when he was out here a few years ago about the link frunt, he said they were better everywhere but would somtimes bend of the big jumps so they stopped using them.

Leading links have the advantage that you can get away with much softer springs as they are not directly supporting the bikes weight through the fork springs, meaning they probably could track much better and have more effective dampening.

I would say they are also much more complicated = expensive to manufacture in production compared to teles

Plus Ribi front end is not always aesthetically pleasing  ;D ;D

I havn't seen USD forks with drum brakes before  :-\
You weren't following the GP's in '82 then..
Well in my defence I was only 5 in 82  ;)
