PERTH MOTORCYCLE SHOW
« on: October 13, 2011, 04:58:10 pm »
Perth Motorcycle Show...
VMXWA has been invited to display their pride and joy at the Perth Motorcycle Show inside the Perth Convention Centre on November 4th, 5th and 6th.

We have available about 90m2 and are looking for interested people to display their bikes and help man the stand over that weekend.
It is a great way to promote Classic motocross and also show off your own treasure.
The cries of ‘I used to have one of them’ will echo all weekend.

If you would like to display or assist in any form please contact Dennis Maloney on 08 9457 1876.

Heard there is some very nice rebuilt bikes to be shown...  8)

Sweet bike that Kerr Goldy. I'd be a bit concerned using that front tyre on the surface under it though. ::)

Today is the last day of the show with the next group of volunteers doing there shift on the pre75 and pre85 display stalls.
The bikes on display are from all different manufactours -from the Little Carabella to the big 4stroke Hondas,CCM's,RM's,KTM,SC's,Husquavrna,Kerr's and all else in between.  :P  :P
My shift on Saturday was busy from about 11am-2pm,well talking mostly with exriders from all over the world..Hard work but someone has to do it   ;D  ;)

I met a gentleman from The Scottish Scrambles Club whom comes over here to get relief from the cold Scottish winter. He had caught up with Vic Allen a few weeks ago in Europe and Vic mentioned how he enjoy his time in West Aust for the 15th Anniversary last year.
This Scottish gentleman also told me of his first brand new bike,(while we looked over a BSA at the show). He washed it when he'd returned from the bike showroom floor in his driveway. When he started it, to take it too the back yard the throttle got stuck on and he and the bike hit the brick wall side on and broke his new Goldie  :'(  :'(   He says he still looks for that bike/head to this day, if you ever find a BSA motor with about the fourth fin left side missing, its his   :P   ;D
The Scotsman also told me of the diminishing pre60/65 bikes at club days in the UK and neighbouring classic events. They may get 6-10 on a good day.Said to think this looks to be a world wide issue :'(

Also I chatted to David Bowman in the below picture whom helped build Rhind Tutt's Wasp work shop/sheds and swung for him when David was a young 19.
If ever you get an opportunity to man a stall-try not to miss it.Legends can and do come out of the woodwork to gaze over the old dirt bike.
ps anyone know a Andy Dykes has a Bultaco 360
cheers A

Hi Alison,
I always remebered Andy Dykes being loyal to CCM but he must never have forgot Norrie Lymburn and Peter Reid blowing him off on their bulto s when Andy was a youngster....did you get the Scots name that you spoke to at the show Alison?

Andy's a nice bloke and rip roaring fast, I last saw him at the Raymond Terrace DT Nats. I believe he rode factory CCM's for a while back in the UK.
