What a great last 20 laps, was some great driving from Tander when Lowndes applied the blow torch.

There's a reason they call it The Great Race. Never disappoints.

Had to chuckle at the 2 time loser I saw on the road this evening. He was driving a Ford with a Collingwood FC member sticker on the rear window! ;D

There had to have been quite a few fatals in that video, those early open wheelers seemed to launch the drivers out very easily

From what I've read it was considered preferable back then to be flung out than be trapped in the car and burnt.

I watch it for the drivers too because to be going as hard as they do lap after lap doing very close to the same lap times for so long is pretty amazing.

Notice how Ch7 has had to pixelate the Marlboro and Winfield signage on everything. Sure will be close at the front, a lot of things have to go right on one day to win this race.
