Just picked up a cappra 250 engine with the gear change on the right hand side i have not had a good look at it yet but will let you know how it has been done when i have stripped it down the one thing that puzells me is why?

Because you can  and because you should. Left foot gear change was just a cunning plan by Johnny foreigner to  damage the British bike industry as if it couldn't damage itself. ::)

Maybe so but in 39 years of riding i have and 35 on monts i have yet to see another one with a right hand gear change.

Some of the pre 70 ones had the gear change on the right. The cases were even made so as you could convert it to either side.

All pre 1974 Cappra models were right side shift.

left was real popular in the states specially in circuit racing, its a given then.

Yes sorry what i should have made clear is that it has been converted from left hand shift to right hand shift and i have not seen another not over in the UK anyway that has been converted there might be but as i have said i have not seen one has anyone else.

Hi Jim, my mistake as I for got that their was two models, and yes, yours is eligible for pre 70, and my friend here in geelong is building a 4 speed. white frame right side gear change, orange fenders and tank. My brother
Dennis raced a 360 model in 69 which was bored to a 380, Malcome Palmer raced it and also bought it new of Lyall O`brien, It was a very quick bike.
