Hi all,
Well I started out with a zip start mini when I was about 6. Thanks Santa.
Got sick of my mate blowing me away on his Z50 (longer travel) so I progressed to a YZ80C in the late 70's.
I bought an IT175 around '81 or '82. It never missed a beat (except for that one time it caught on fire. Thanks Dave throwing rocks at it from 30 yards away, but that won't put the flames out).
Then a 1984 Cagiva WMX250. In fact they are 190cc with 250 stickers. Cagiva's theory was maximise power in a 125 size bike to race 250 class. 190cc being the maximum size before beefing the bike up from 125 frame specs. As history shows the 250 class did not change to 190cc so I guess the best laid plans of mice & men....
Sold the Cagiva in '90 to buy text books for Uni.
No bikes until '06. Got the bug again so I picked up a 1984 KTM GS 250 off ebay. Fun Bike but cooked it a couple of months ago.
Just picked up an '06 WR250. Push the button, it starts but no fear factor.
I look foward to picking up a bike for VMX.
Regards, A.J.
