Another Yamaha for old Firko
« on: August 08, 2011, 07:26:56 pm »
I'll soon be giving this IT250H(?) a bit of a tidy up for next years Vinduro circuit. It's not a bad old bus with good compression, a spark you could weld with and good straight wheels and reasonable pipe. I'll replace the 'guards, polish up the tank and panels and fit the lights, guages and missing odds and sods (in a box). I've got a set of YZ490 43mm forks and triples and twin leader front brake so I think they'll go on.
*The shock's rooted but I can get a hold of a perfect YZ 250G shock...Any idea if it'll fit this bike?
*Who's the best source for 'guards? I'm not building a blinger, just a tidy rider...DC Plastic perhaps?
*Who supplies graphics for this model?

You can always try A.R Maxwell, Mark. His advert,as you probably know is listed on the ozvmx ning site.
I got plastics and a DG pipe for my IT490,couldn't be happier with quality.
He also responded to any queries I had, very quickly. The parts got here super quick too.
Can't recommend the guy high enough.

                                                                                        Cheers,Mark
I used to drink a lot.
I still do,but I used to,too.

The YZ250 shock should go straight in Firko, they are very similar.

 Hi Mark ,
           try this place for your decals ;
They list 1982 model  decal set  (slightly different tank graphic to '81 )  ; maybe they do '81 model set ?

 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360085816852&viewitem=&category=35593&refid=store

I have purchased  a set of  decals for my IT490  from them ; Very good quality , reasonably priced too.

Regards ,
              Steve
