I reckon it'll go off for around $400-500
I was close. ;D Unfortunately I've got enough stuff in my in tray right now. It'd be a good buy for someone, preferably a Maico tragic with a lot of older Maico bits laying around. I thought long and hard but figured that it'd have sat for two or three years before I would have had a chance to get to it.

Because of other committments I've decided not to go with the above oval Maico but another forum Maicophile has jumped in. Even though it's in a pretty unique 'bike' as it is, the below Craiglist Tuscan snowmobile has the Holy Grail rare as shite alloy oval barrel and head. The engine top end is worth what the Tuscan is going for....... ;)

I've decided to continue with my original plan of putting together a works Sprite/Maico replica. I've got Sprite founder Frank Hipkin advising me on the project so it'll be as accurate as I can get it. I'll initially build it with my 360 squarie for pre 70 but hope to get an alloy oval top end to convert it to pre-65 just by swapping engines. We're talking 2013 for this one so no hurry.
