pre 60 vinduro/enduro

How about a pre 60 enduro.
I watched that you tube link to the '56 ISDT and marvelled at the 'road bikes' they were on and it reminded me of an idea I had of a Vinduro held on A100 type bikes with trials tyres fitted and let them loose for a day in the forest with a special test mx at the end.
Everyone has to finish on time and then be judged on 'breakages' at the final scrutineering.
You'll note in the vid a guy with his mudguard strapped to his back as he would need it to finish with full points or be docked for breakages or being underweight etc...
 Any takers??

All the vinduro's i've been to have been Pre 85 , headlight ,taillight and a good muffler .pay your money and ride whatever you have . Great fun and no rules or classes required  .

You propose an interesting challenge but I think most people are flat out keeping 'real' bikes going and don't have the time / finances for extra luxuries.

And from what I heard about Harrow so far it was a challange for them to finish with there Pre 85 bikes intact.

I just thought it would be an interesting challenge and not too expensive-and  a bloody good laugh-which we all need in the current climate.(both VMX and political)

My first bike was a huge kawasaki 2t 125 twin not sure what model ,pressed steel frame and a big chrome tank ,nobby on the back road tyre on the front and only front brakes ,fixed pegs and would pull 80 mph pretty fast for a 12 year old  .Everyone hung shit on it till they were eating dirt behind it . There is no way i would try and ride one of them shitboxes on the dirt ever again . Haha

That's exactly the spirit i would expect. Almost all of us started on something completely unacceptable for the job we put it to...YZHilly case in point. I started on a CL50 Honda but had to keep up with my mates on TS100s and a KT125 of which I am the only one still riding(they had it too easy in their formative stages I reckon )
So put yoursevlves in the shoes of those early 6days riders-the best on offer was a CZ250 that looked so close to a streeter it's not funny and the poor bugger on the Triumph? that got stuck in the mud for 40mins-I thought he was going to call for a tractor to pull his bike out.
Vinduro coming up at Rocksburgh-I might see if I can borrow the Honda 100 2t they have at the farm and have a go.

Doh looks like Ruffy,s been canceled still havent fixed the IT200 gearbox . That will give me time to look for a kwaka roadie to really relive my first bike dreams . Ha i still remember one of my workmates ( the i know boats type ) telling how good he was and that i should let him ride the Kwaka around our yard it hadnt been ridden for a while so i got it going for him and he took off like a rocket and turned hard left around the incinerator ,at which point the fixed footpeg dug into the ground the bike pivoted around  on the peg and flung him down the yard .He was unhurt apart from some grass stains but i still piss myself even today when i run into him . thats where i will leave the dream of the converted roadie . I dont wont to build one again it would ruin it for me . YZHILLY.
