74 YZ360 Lower end (true 432)
« on: July 14, 2011, 02:46:44 pm »
I have a 74 YZ360A lower end (432-000513) completely redone  w/ all seals ,bearings, clutch , clutch springs , trued crank.  Currently installed in my race bike w/ 2-5 lap motos  so it is fresh.  I have decided I like the 250A motor better and will let this go to a new home. Anyone that is interested knows what the cost will likely be but contact me and I will discuss.   Thanks         No the top end is not for sale ........ yet !   Tom

Top end is for another 360 that I own . My other 360 came w/ a Works cylinder and head and if I ever decide to sell it the works stuff stays w/ me (although money talks).  Allan don't let them discourage you .........you only live once !  Kerry obviously he would need a 360 cylinder as the 250 wont work , are you assuming he would use a 250 top end ?

no im just saying unless he has a 360 barrell there is no use in buying the lower cases, as nothing other than a 360yz will fit it.  im just making sure they understand that before they own a table peice, some people dont realise about the rear studs.

Allan, i have a 360 in a 250 frame, and its just not the same, you would be better off finding the engine from that 250YZA and completeing it and making it whole again.   Like Tom says the 250 is a lot more uselful for racing.

whats the frame number of the roller you have ? i have a few 250a cases here ill check incase i have your missing numbers.......

i have another 250 roller so maybe you can help me with what you engine number is too ?

Freaky, how can you say a 360 in a 250 frame doesnt work when they are exactly the same......the only different parts are the cases, crank, barrel, piston, head and exhaust......everything else is the same?.....besides, you can put a RT1 reed type barrell on it and have a pro port the shit out of it and do it that way......or are you scaring everybody off it to have it for yourself. ;D

just out of curiosity,
will an RT2/3 barrel or an MX/DT360 barrel fit?
all still pre~75 legal.

Talk to Lozza and I'm pretty sure he will tell you he would rather start with a trail bike barrel rather than porting a race barrel. It gives him more scope to shape the ports to modern day theories and proven practices. (And probably doesn't feel as bad when he 'screws the pooch' with the rare and exoctic such as the YZA barrel ;).)

Hey guys !!!
RT1,2 Cylinders will not just bolt on a YZ360 lower end.
The intake side hold down studs for the head bolts are spaced further apart on the YZ.Sure they can be moved but it is quite a bit of welding & machining.MX 360 cylinders cannot be used on a YZ 360.
I have a couple of 75 YZ 360B bikes that could be bought for the right price and even a couple of YZ 360 cylinders. One is a NOS.I also have pistons & rings.
Let me know.
