fork tube chrome repair

I'm currently rebuilding a set of 43 mm forks and noticed that one tube has a chip that feels like it would give any new seal a flogging. Question is has anyone attempted to fill and buff out chip with liquid metal or the like successfully? Rechroming tube is expensive and delaying for one chip.

I've never done it myself but my brother has worked in the industry all his life and say's, that you can put super glue into the chip and then use wet & dryto remove the excess.
This may take a few coats but if you rub your hand along the tube you'll know when you've done enough.

Yeah I know, but you do one you might as well do them both so that's $300 plus a 4 week wait.
I have had them do plenty of stuff for me in the past, and your right they do a great job, but I thought I might try the $20/ 2 hr option for this one......and if I stuff it up, they'll end up there anyway, and you can give me the " I told you so" speech

Does anyone know what depth pit can be repaired using the process that RAD uses? I have some badly corroded forks that I would like to replate.

I believe they braze pits if too deep to chrome over. Shouldnt be a problem.
