Race Jerseys - available in Oz
« on: July 06, 2011, 03:37:59 pm »
See as now the GCR's require back numbers on riding jerseys, and I am entering the OZ titles, can anyone point me in the direction of an Australian business that does desent race jerseys, as I would prefer to buy from a local source. I am after a appropriate late 70's style Husqvarna jersey to go with the 390 auto I intend to ride.

Thanks,

CJ

You can buy a identa-kit from most bike stores that allows you to iron on your custom name and numbers.
Also most graphics companies now do custom back transfers for your jerseys.

Putting the number on the back is not the issue, I want to find out if there is anyone here in Oz that actually sells old style MX jerseys, prefferably a vintage Husky style, as I don't want to look like a multi-coloured Rorschach Test!!

Ditto for Metro Racing, have had plenty of good gear from them. Vintage Iron are good too, postage costs from the USA are up lately but the gear's bloody good. Forget shopping local...but any good sports store will sort you out with iron-on numbers for your back...
Nostalgia's not what it used to be....

There is a company in UK that makes vintage jerseys
http://www.destroyclothing.co.uk/5.html

also you may want to check out

You might be able to find a plain long sleeve shirt and put your own iron ons too or get a Husky logo printed on. There just is not many options in Australia for pre made vintage jerseys.

Because in there infinite wisdom, those in charge of the sport put it in the GCR's!

Wandering a bit off topic, but I had a netball bib made up with my back number. That way I could put it over any jersey I wanted, change the jersey if it got soaked halfway through the day etc.
