$1500 :o, for a clean original bike. The seller must have been keen for a quick sale.

I do not believe it sold.

If  you had one as a kid and you wanted a bike to start a collection it was a steal!  If you wanted to race it you would have had to put more than that into it to be competitive (just like back in 1977).  A buddy of mine had one that had tons of mods to it; FMF pipe, Skunk Works carb kit, porting, milled head, aluminum swingarm, Fox Shox, fork kit.  He was barely competitive with the RM's and YZ's.

Still this is a beautiful stock bike.  :)

That 'monstrosity' was fitted to all M2 and M3 CR125s sold in Australia. the M4 had a slightly smaller more attractive muffler attached!!

I was under the impression that the muffler was standard issue on the U.S models and not the Au models. I have seen a lot of those mufflers on U.S. bikes and never on an Aussie bike. I also thought the 'M4' never made it to Australia.

Well there you go. And here I thought I knew everything! I do now  ;D
Typical Aussies threw everything away and proceeded to flog everything to death. That's why we marvel at so many low hour bikes in the U.S. so well preserved.

The '78 cr125m4 came out over here and it had red fork lower legs and grips but there were not many around and i also remember some '76 CR125's having the big spark arrestor on them.

Was it the '77 250 then that never made it here?
