Wild PE 400 to hit the track
« on: June 11, 2011, 04:40:56 pm »
Just finished a fairly wild PE400 for dirt track racing. The PE engine is ideal for dirt track due to it's short stroke.  A better piston will be the next upgrade.A tip for PE 400 owners is to drill 4 oil holes as the piston heats up badly on the 'corners'

Hoping to run at DT Nats, yeah TM38 but might go back to the VM round slide(they seem to make more HP on the front side of the curve), yeah Hoony my pipe/ports and new ignition. The aftermarket mudguard makes it look high the shocks are mighty soft so it squats down. One thing is for sure it is earsplitting loud, even with every noise abatement trick in the book.

You will have to lower that bike for Chris or get some orthapaedic extensions glued on the bottom of the boots.

I rode it at somesby before the mods and it was nice to ride so will be interesting, has a thing about shearing fywheel keys tho so might be worth checking out.

It would be worth protesting just to get a bite out of him, might have a whip around at the NAts ;D
Always looking for Maico parts/bikes, cash paid

A mate of mine had a kawasaki piston fitted to his PE400.  Gives it slightly more capacity.

Someone in Queesnsland makes the mods.
