Suzuki RM125S 1975 Resto - modified or stock?
« on: June 06, 2011, 08:23:57 am »
Hi lads,

I'm restoring a 1975 Suzuki RM125S and I am of two minds as to how it will look.

Do I either restore it as a 1972 Suzuki RH250 look alike - like this:

Or do I keep it completely stock - as these bikes seem to be quite popular.

It'll be set up for racing, but I'll probably sell it on in the next 6-12 months.
What is the consensus from the Suzuki experts - modified or stock?

Cheers,
Mark

i'm no Suzuki expert but i reckon you can't go wrong either way as thay both look real cool.
i've always liked the Zuke factory hubs with that silver trim around the spoke line though.

I would modify the hell out of it. I have one of these myself, must give it a birthday at some point.

Modify the heck out of it. Change the forks, wheels, everything. Cover it in modern plastics and colours. Stick a water-cooled engine in it. Turn a nice little bike into an utter piece of crap.
Your call :-)

Stupid question ::). That's not even a question.

For 'showboat' or a racer this is the look you want - you know you want it.
Go for it!!! 8)

For my 2 cents i prefer original cause when you do a replica you will always get,  can't you afford the real thing buddy Etc, from some smart ass and then you will start to doubt your choice. and from a resale point of view won't original always win out over replica.

I don't know, needs a decent alloy swing arm or something to tart it up. Stock all you have is Suzuki trying cash in on the looks of the last of the RH.

Mod it for sure. The RH look is great. Otherwise it's just another rm125s...

Anyone mentioning the Ex wife and VMX bikes in the same sentence, should be tied up & publicly whipped in the city mall during my lunch break.  :(
