MotoGP - moto3??
« on: June 02, 2011, 08:29:50 pm »
The 125's have been given the boot and have been replaced by 250 4 dungers. Anyone know much about the new motors? How will the 250 4 stroke survive and how much slower will they be to the outgoing 125's? Will be interesting to see. Honda have announced the NFS250R.

Roughly 4 seconds a lap slower, will have max 81mm bore with spec ECU,hard rev limit of 14,000 rpm very limited amount of gearbox ratios, max cost of 12,000 Euro and any supplier must supply at least 15 riders. Manufacturers are shying away in droves though 1 manufacturer will probably step up.....................guess which one?
The worry is Toni Elias' performances this year he's gone from a solid performer, to Moto 2 champ to consistent crasher in 3 years. His crashes  are just like he's hit black ice, not a good training ground for MotoGP

And people laughed when I said Honda have bought the FIM. Their intention is to push the price of the sport so high that only they are left. And fark the average clubbie who gets priced out in the battle.

if Moto 2 and Moto 3 are an indication of the future then my guess is internal combustion engines have had their day and the manufacturers are just waiting to introduce the next development class for racing when they know what direction the market will go in.
I just hope it isn't "effin" Asimo with wheels...  :o ::)...... ;D

What is a 4 stroke ? is not that some thing from the past I thought motor sport was about lighter, faster ,more power from less . Yes mr rule maker my engine has to be twice the capacity of those 2 strokes because its not as fast in equal cc . ow yes I forgot to tell you it costs much more to service as well  ;D   AND THEY SOUND BLOODY DREADFULL .

Did you see the demo laps at Barcelona in the weekend, racing the starters rigs for the motogp bikes would provide more speed. Guess they'll be running 10 lap races in moto3 :(
