Toolboy,

A and B are not actually different. They came out as an A with a fine spline and thinner shaft - can't remember the diameter but around 18mm. Towards the end of the A they brought out a new shaft and kickstarter which had a course spline and around a 2mm bigger diameter shaft.  Check what you have and let me know. [email protected] or 0407 915014 as I might have what you need.

All the best

So 2mm bigger and courser spline isn't different  ??? my A and B kickstarts dont interchange for the reasons you state, so i assumed that made them different  ???

Bill and Tim,

What I know is my A came from the factory with a fine spline. Once it snapped clean off in 2010 I did some research and found original Suzuki documents that said they worked out they were breaking and then made the larger course splined ones which appears to have been put on the last of the A's and then the B's.

Sorry if I got it confused in any way. Might have been a beer thing.

Tim, you should try Alpha Sports Suzuki in the USA for a course splined kick starter. I don't think you can buy the fine splined one or the fine splined shaft new anymore.
