This in today, from Jim Wilkinson - one of the riders ...
"We did the movie for a novel and film class in High school. We used a Super-8 movie camera
and literally had to cut and scotchtape the film together. We used a reel-to-reel tape recorder
and had to start and stop it to record the music off of vinyl records.
"It was a ton of work but we did get an "A" for effort and for including all the film techniques required.
"The opening shots are at Kahuku MX track ... that is still around today. The Maui shots are on the
backside of Haleakala, across the road from the Pryor and Lindberg estates. We had the privilege of taking
General Lindbergh and Mr. Pryor the ex-president of Pan American Airlines up to the track we made
in the pasture they'd let us use. They told us stories about riding Harleys back in their day.
"We had a great trip and a memorable experience.
"You can check out our riding today on my You Tube Jimwilk3 or with my boys by looking up
Slick Off Road Wash.
"Oh and the bikes. They were all good bikes. 400 Maico, my bike a 400 husky, 250 CZ, and
two 125 Pentons. I now ride a 09 KTM 250 xcw and a KTM 450 dual sport.
- Aloha Jim"
