Never and moreover hope to never again ;D By the thickness of those rings it would have to be early circa 60's and pre war design

How's this for another odd one. I'm doing the Ducati 350 at the moment and was surprised to find the stock piston had an extra ring on the bottom of the skirt. If using the stocker the go apparently, is to cut the skirt down above the bottom ring. I'm using a new tech short skirt Cosworth or Wiseco piston instead.

that ducati piston is a weird one, being a fourstroke i wonder how the section between the rings (where the gudgeon is) gets lubed?
