Mildura Supercross - 1988 (Hammond and GMC)

Hey Rog
Funny story with that trip to Mildura.

We arrived in Mildura the day before the event ... and when we came across that sign, Dave
couldn't help himself.   He got the Texta out and made himself an event feature by adding his name.

Next day, as pit crew, I wheeled his bike in for scrutineering when I was accosted by officials
who wanted to take me out the back for a beating!!
Being a good mate I simply said: "It's not my bike, go see Dave over there."

Whereupon they went to confront him about defacing their sign.
Quick thinking Dave cried, "It wasn't me.   Must have been one of me bastard mates that did it."

Regards,
Geoff

Actually going by the Dec 14th date that would make those shots from 85.
I have an 87 Program but can’t find any earlier ones.
I think 87 was the year that Trevor Thomas won it.

i could be wrong Geoff ( i most often are) , but # 5 on the suzuli looks like it could possibly be Ian Crompton to me, that would depend on the race numbers being for that meeting only as i don't think Ian ever made Vic A Grade # 5

Yeah I can’t remember myself now Hoony, it doesn’t really look like Robin but couldn’t think who else it could be.
I think 71 was a DVMCC club member but can’t remember who now.

I don't think so Stan
Zooming in, the number on the KX appears to be 24
