Cheney frame, 850 Norton engine and the nicest set of pipes I've seen for a long time. I reckon this'd be a blast to ride. With 850cc of grunt all you'd have to do is to click it into third and forget the gearbox after that.

You quiet often see an old review or a challenge of say the kx125 and rm125.
Did they ever do write ups review on the CCM and say one of the above or British equivlant.. 
Or was it just a Japanese marketing pitch.??

Bob McNamara - Texas on the track at Diamond Don's Riverport Extravaganza.  Even with the activities of two hundred or so riders in the background the Norton was heard above all when started 



Bill Orth - Colorado brought two Rickman's one of which a rare BSA 650 which took the "Cool Bike" award.

One assumes it's a big bore 920!  why have 750 or even 850, when you really do need the extra HP??!!!!

Fair play to him / her.  Nice to see something different being built and getting used.  They look best muddy!

Who said Sachs engines are slow! ...nice wheelie and almost nice holeshot Dale!

I don't really care if the bike comes last and is an ill handling pig....it's a cool looking thing and works well as a piece of industrial art in my opinion. The fact that it works as a racer is an added bonus. I've got an extra bit of admiration for anyone who takes a different perspective on bike or engine choice. Bikes like this add a welcome bit of colour to the sport and offer a big middle finger digit to the purists. It's a pity that those beautiful pipes don't end with a silencer of some sort though. Apparently noise restrictions aren't a priority in Texas .

The bike wouldn't be as heavy as some think, the Norton engine is surprisingly light other than the darn barrel and crankshaft of which both can be attended to for VMX and to trim some weight you only need 2 gears in the box, fast and faster 

Those belt kits save a lot of weight too but quite a number of them give headaches mostly belts won't hang together although for VMX probably ok and of course he is using aluminium mounting plates everywhere.

The same pretty much applies to the A65 BSA engine too and with their shorter stroke I'm surprised more don't go for them for VMX - the A65 barrel especially is painfully heavy.

Yeah the Norton motor might be a lightish but onece you swing the AMC box in there it gains a few kgs, but I think this bike is about doing something different, I think it is cool.
