Hi Suzi Lovers heres were I'm at!
I Picked up this one last year from BigK.The frame and engine are S but barrel is M no carb,spacer or airbox, the pipe looks like it may have been a S once in its life. I am on the look out for the usual :(a muffler and mag cover (anchakandsons could be comming up with a repo)

As if I didnt have enough to do

I got this 250 early this year Ebay from a guy who had restored it

Side covers are possibly cr80, the hubs,spokes,rims and forks have a nice coat of silver paint.He couldn't wait to tell me that the engine was worked and it had been bored out to the max for extra power Its only on its 2nd OS
After reading some of the threads on resto's I have decided this one will be more like a race bike something along the lines of Bears Fox370 and DG400n.

Hi Guys havent posted for a while, just trying to avoid the massive amount non vmx posts it was starting to do my head in :-\So its good to see we are back on track. The big red pig in the background of the first pic threw me off on our annual trip to the high country, Had a little nap trail side and broke my right collarbone(it now matches the left)spent the night in Wang hospital getting head scans etc but all good now

So couldn,t do much for all of May and June. another helmet gets retired, good reason to buy a newy.
Getting the usual crap from all the golf and fishing softys that don't ride bikes that Im getting to old to ride motorbikes only 50

to young for that shit yet.

Did the tank and seat for the "S". The seat base was a rusted out mess, I formed up some aluminium sheet as an overlay, riveted to the old base, it raised the foam up a bit which was good for a tight cover fit. The tank had a 30mm crack where it sits on the rear rubber mount, unnown cause. JB weld done a good repair of that.It had minor dings that a smeer of bog fixed.

Hallelujah Nobby. The little TM & RM 125's are an absolute credit to you. Where'd you get that cool black rolling stand under the RM. I could do with something like that. I love 'old mates' idea of a resto. Silverfrosted spokes is such a professional look $:-\$ . I bought a Maico 440 once that had every spoke painstakingly brush painted gold. groovy...not

The more we can get guys like Nobby to post threads showing their bike projects, the closer we come to rebirthing the old forum we used to know and love. Good one matey.

Nobby - thats awesome - I am not sure why but I have a particular like for this model - maybe because they came out when I was just finishing minibikes and they were the first bike I lusted after - and to see one being done to this condition - mmmmmmmmmmm

yup, that is bloody nice Nobby! Only one I've seen close to that kind of condition (apart from Ian Pike's in UnZud) was a couple that Dodgee built back in about 2006/07. One was an S and the other an M. His S pictured below, although extremely nice, was a notch below the M that he also built. For me, the reason they appealed so much at the time was they were so close (in appearance) to the factory RA125 from '74. Although the engines were still nothing more than a glorified TS125, the origins of which began in 1971, the release of the S model made the M model performance pale in comparison. Basically a transitional model heralding the onset of long travel suspension and the last of the old style piston port engines. The following year ('76) the Gaston Rahier replica RM125A was released and the rest is history as they say.

Thanks for the encouragement, doing a resto to original was starting to wear off, I want to get to the 250n which will be a rider so less pretty and less polished, I picked up the bike stand from a shop that sold chinese pitbikes and steel shelving a couple of years back and has now closed, They were cheap about $30 so I got two, I just put the other one together last week to put the new mig on. I added the casters.
Heres a photo of the box so if anyone see's them out there maybe let the forum know.

Hey Nobby, thanks for the great pics, it has given me enthusiasm to take on an RM125B that doesn't even look like an RM anymore; I actually walked straight past it not knowing what it was LOL.

I think I'll have to post up the stages as I work thru it.

I have started to get down to the hard bits, finshed the engine,new bigend,conrod,top end and the usual bearings seals and gaskets.had to go 3rd OS wiseco from a 1st, barrel was pretty bad.Odd that it had a "M" barrel but a "S" frame and bottom end must have been pilidged in a past life. got a nos spacer and modified the fins to suit.new 32mm carb.The unobtainable bits missing were airbox, muffler/pipe,chainguides and mag cover.
