So basically he wants $65,000 for a Clews rolling chassis as the engine is stock and not the original... Yeah right!
If he hopes to get good money for the bike it needs to come with something in writing from Alan Clews at least but like Tim said you can buy a brand new one from Rod Spry for around $20,000 Aus.

How I read it is that the motors were originally silver painted XL500 but he's fitted a black painted one
Still massively overpriced in anyones eyes though

It's got the original pommy air in the tires,thats gotta be worth something :P, Funny that, coz when i leave any of my bikes for extended periods the tires slowly loose pressure ;)

It's a silly price but who knows? Engine wise, it IS the original as I read it. But it was originally silver and he's painted it black.

He'd be better off trying to sell it in the UK, i don't think Americans have much interest in those pommy built bikes.
Be interesting to see how desirable they really are in the UK.
